Our Quality of Life Services are tailored to meet both the expectations of their employees and their requirements in terms of safety, business continuity and performance, in a growing and dynamic market.  

We provide 24/7 facility services like catering, housekeeping and laundry services on exploration and production platforms as well as on several dredging, construction, pipe laying and accommodation vessels around the globe. 

In The Netherlands we operate from two offices in the Netherlands: in Hoorn looking after the Oil & Gas activities and in Capelle aan den IJssel dedicated to our Marine (shipping) business. Due to a change in our team, we are looking for an Operations Manager Marine located in Capelle aan den IJssel.

Duties include:

In a high potential market, Sodexo provides different levels of service to the Maritime companies willing to improve their quality of life on-board.

As an Operation Manager Marine you will be responsible for supporting the development of this offer and operating the Quality of Life solutions. You will also be in charge of the mobilizations and retention management.

You will report to the Operations Director for Marine Services and your main responsibilities will be to: 

  • Lead and develop the unit management team to maximize resources and opportunities to the benefit of Company and client.
  • Maintain and build positive client relationships both on -and offshore.
  • Visitations to the work sites.
  • Prepare and control budgets to ensure that commercial/financial performance is maximized and targets delivered.
  • Keeping good connections with the field and frequently visits the work sites/vessels.
  • Having a hands-on mentality and being able to switch from an operational to a strategic level.
  • Act as a leader in HSE and ensure that all units comply with the HSE Plan and that Company standards are implemented and adhered to.
  • Drive the Clients for life Sodexo program in particular building relations and have plans in place for business retention.
  • Undertake (ad-hoc) project work and manage deadlines and expectations
  • Demonstrate the Sodexo values and behaviors standards and act as a role model for all internal and external customers.


What do you take with you?

  • Bachelor Degree (Hogehotel school, Facility Management) level or equivalent demonstrable level of practical experience;
  • Experience in hospitality is an advance;
  • (Global) Project Management skills;
  • Cross Cultural experience;
  • Good knowledge of the English language orally and in writing;
  • Good knowledge of MS Office, in particular excel and powerpoint;
  • Excellent communication, written and presentation skills;
  • Ability to anticipate, adapt and meet frequently changing work environment internally and externally;
  • Sound level of commercial and financial awareness;
  • Ability to act as a leader;
  • Problem solver and Innovator.

What do we offer?

  • Position for 40 hours a week;
  • Work location: Capelle a/d IJssel;
  • A competitive salary between € 4.000 - € 5.000 a month, depending on experience;
